Took a different trail for my walk on Sunday in Cape Henlopen State Park and learned that it is the eastern terminus of the American Discovery Trail. It stretches from coast to coast. Learn more at their web site.
When I think of a great place for lunch when the sun is shining on the waterfront, I go for the outdoor dining at Gilligan's, right next to the Inn at Canal Square. My favorite is the Salmon BLT and everyone loves the crab cake sandwich. Can't wait for Spring!
One of the best restaurants on the "Culinary Coast". Southern Delaware Tourism has coined the phrase "life tastes better here" and The Buttery is one of the reasons why. This is where we brought clients last week to celebrate their new home here in Coastal Delaware. The service is as wonderful as the food.
Building is booming at certain communities in Lewes, Delaware, like Breakwater. These new twin homes are now under construction in this luxury community East of Route 1 being built by Schell Brothers. It's a good sign for the real estate market for 2011 that we are once again hearing the sound of hammers!
Look at all those wonderful cheeses, meats, breads and deserts. Everything is brought in from the Bronx, NY, or prepared right here by members of the family. Every time I pass by Touch of Italy, at the corner of 2nd Street and Savannah Rd., the store is full of customers. No longer do I have to explain about no good NY deli here in Lewes, Delaware!
On my way to a function at the Virden Center at the University of Delaware the other day, I had to stop and take a photo of our Wind Turbine that now powers the University of Delaware Lewes Campus. How majestic in the bright fall sky that morning!
Have you been to this spot in Lewes Beach? One of my favorite things about living in Lewes, Delaware, is riding my bike to the beach just beyond the Lewes Yacht Club.
